There is more to me than meets the eye!

We all have passions and hobbies. I have placed here activities that I love. I would love to share them with you or your community. U RecK It! will bring the program to you. You provide the space to meet and I will do the rest.

 

1. Magic - I have been a magician for over 40 years. I have performed for children to seniors. I even opened for the band "Devo" in their heyday. I can teach magic to children. Intro To Magic - This five week program offers participants an basic understanding of magic, some history and a few tricks to have up their sleeves! Magic To Do - This five week program builds on the skills taught in Intro and begins the participants on their way to the world of magic. The Art of Magic - Will take those who have participated and advanced to the rank of magician's assistant and teach the student what it takes to perform in public or for private groups. Students will improve their public speaking skills as part of this five week program.

 

2. Staff Training - Getting Seasonal staff ready in a short time is difficult with everything else you have going on so leave the training to me. From one day to a full week of training I have you covered. Components that may be covered include; Special Events and Themes - Staff will learn how to develop signature events and themes that will keep campers coming back each summer. How to deal with difficult campers - Staff will learn about campers as it relates to child development. They will also learn how to talk to children and to problem solve situations as they arise. New Games - This component will teach games for small group time to large all camp activities. The Counselor's Role - Some young counselors don't understand what impact they have on children. They will learn their role as relates to the day to day interaction with young people and how they fit into the rest of the camp.

 

3. Wrestling - I have coached youth wrestling since 1998 years in Berlin, CT. I have also coached on the high school level and started the Amity Regional high School Program. Would you like to start a wrestling program of help build a feeder program for your high school team? I have also run tournaments successfully for over 10 years. Looking for someone to clerk the tournament? Tournaments have included; Berlin Blast, McGee Middle School Tournament, starting in 2016 Portland CT Highlander Invitational, 2016 Massachusetts South Division 3 Regional Tournament, 2015 Massachusetts Central Division 3 Regional Tournament, 2014 Massachusetts Metro Division 2 Regional Tournament. 4. Food - I love to cook. Maybe you are looking for someone to cook something special for a party or just a dinner for some close friends. I will bring everything needed to prepare the food you just need to provide a cooking area, stovetop and oven. (Oh and plates and silverware if it is a small party, otherwise I can provide plasticware.) Maybe you are looking for this class to offer - Guy Cooking, The Art of Reading a Recipe - This class will teach anyone how to find a recipe and follow the instructions. It is sometimes just learning how to get over the intimidating list of ingredients!

 A.  Delish Dinners & Desserts - Put on your chef's hat!  Make a main dish from scratch and top it off with dessert!  Learn measuring, utensil use and kitchen safety.  Ingredients are common items like ground beef and chicken.  Participants will need to bring two containers to each class to take your creations home.  Class length usually a two hours.

B. Junior Chefs - Cook up some fun! Learn the important aspects of food preparation keeping a clean and safe workplace along with the proper way to set a table.  These cookng kiddos will prepare full meals including entrees like steak fingers or chicken strips along with two side dishes.  Classes are usually 1.25 hours long.

C. Dad's Turn - No need to cook from a box!  Dad's will learn how to cook simple meals that the family will love.  Learn to read your recipes and understand what is needed to complete the best dish ever.   Learn measuring, utensil use and kitchen safety.  Participants will learn how to use the internet to their advantage for new and exciting recipes.  Participants will need to bring two containers to each class to take home their creations.  Class length usually 2 hours.

 

5. Tennis - From lessons for children to adults or running a tournament I can offer you either. Tennis lessons are broken down into 4 or 8 week sessions. Group lessons give individuals a basic understanding of the game of tennis while developing the skills needed to play with friends. No one will become a pro but it's a starting point to see if they like it.  This is a great class to offer during the day for home schooled children in your community.

 

6. Model Rocketry - This class is a blast! No really I teach the participants fun facts and even some science about rocketry while they build their own model rocket. At the end of the session we blast them off in a safe and fun way that is really cool and great of photo opportunities.

 

7. Crafty Me - This class is for younger participants to have fun and make a craft project to take home each week. The other component of this class is it teaches children how to interact with other children - even carry on a conversation without texting!

 

8. Pre School T-Ball - This class is for child and parent to interact together while learning basic skills of the game of baseball. Each week we will work on the skills of baseball in a fun atmosphere.

 

9. Pre School Soccer - This class is for child and parent to interact together while learning basic skills of the game of soccer. Each week we will work on the skills of kicking, throwing and running in a fun atmosphere. Participants will work on running while kicking a ball, foot and eye coordination, balance and throwing the ball.
